Due to our recent expansion within the Middle East market, WPR is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Recruitment Consultant / Manager to oversee our Qatari and Saudi Arabian recruitment operations.
Based in Qatar, the successful applicant will have an impressive array of recruitment experience, which will include an impressive track record within the Gulf countries.
At least 3 yrs experience in Construction/Engineering/Oil and Gas will be essential for this role.
The Senior Recruitment Consultant will, under the specific direction of the Company General Manager, become involved in
- maximising the commercial benefit from the current clients (e.g. enhancing relationships with current clients to win more work),
- opening up new areas of geographical commercial interest (e.g. exploring the Kuwaiti/GCC market by helping the General Manager (GM) explore opportunities established through current business networks),
- developing new potentially lucrative relationships/contacts (e.g. exploring the Qatari market with head office and local assistance),
- securing agreements as directed by the GM ((e.g. assisting the GM develop the ongoing projects and work in progress).
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the GM and as directed by him, develop an outline strategy, plan and budget for the Qatari Office; monitor and control this budget and report to the GM on a monthly basis on budget expenditure.
- In conjunction with the GM and as directed by him, develop projects to (a) maximise the commercial benefit of the current clients, (b) open up new areas of geographical commercial interest to the client, (c) develop new potentially lucrative relationships/contacts, and/or (d) secure large contracts.
- Track and report on the status of all proposals that are directly related to the Qatar Office's area of responsibility. Submit monthly written progress reports to the GM. Communicate with the GM regarding the progress of projects/assignments, on a timely basis.
- Introduce systems and procedures that generate ongoing market intelligence and ensure this is distributed and fully utilised by WPR team.
- Participate in negotiations (- perhaps as part of a team) with client(s), as and when required.
- With the GM, refine and improve all components of proposals/tenders, ensuring that our WPR is presented professionally to their clients at all times.
- Liaise with commercial and governmental agencies, organisations and influential individuals, to maintain ongoing relationships and maximise contacts, with a view to winning future large contracts/recruitment assignments.
- Represent WPR at professional conferences or events, as specifically directed. Make presentations, host events, and make ad hoc presentations to potential clients / organisations concerning specific proposals and/or client capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a track record of successfully exercising excellent persuasive and interpersonal skills in winning work in a professional recruitment environment.
- Demonstrate leadership and influencing skills exercised at the highest level in professional organisations.
- Significant senior level experience (- minimum of 3 years) in Middle East recruitment in the construction /engineering sector and with a working knowledge of the recruitment market within the GCC.
- Educated to third level degree standard.
- Demonstrate well-honed, all-round business acumen.
- Ability to speak / understand Arabic would be advantageous.
