Our client is an award-winning, fabless semiconductor company, developing multimedia processors for next generation of mobile devices. As part of the next stage of development our client is setting up a design-centre in Belfast to spearhead new product development.

These are world class roles and certainly only comparable to opportunities that exist in Silicon Valley in the USA.

We require Senior Embedded Software Engineers with extensive experience in the development of high-performance real-time image, video and signal-processing software.

Key activities include:

• Participate in the day-to-day planning and operation of the chip design team.
• Review project requirements, functional specifications and various standards to create the physical design plans required to deliver project.
• Software specification and design.
• Software verification and porting.
• Software performance optimisation.
• Offer solutions and suggestions for process and project improvements.

Relevant Experience:

• >5 years relevant experience with products in volume mass-production.
• Multi-disciplinary teamwork with architects and hardware engineers.
• Implementation of complex real-time video, image or signal-processing applications in C.
• Performance optimisation and assembly language programming.
• Development for platform OSes such as Android, Symbian, WinCE etc.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Processor and System-on-Chip simulators and SystemC experience.
• Hardware and prototype debugging using JTAG, logic analysers, oscilloscopes etc.

Periodic travel will exist within this role.
