| Job Description | Our client is located in Belfast City Centre. Up and running since the turn of the century they have seen a lot happen in the Web industry. Due to continued growth they now require a Developer to join their team.
Most of your time will be spent thinking about and developing server and clients-side web applications. Typically you will be developing and extending server-side applications and frameworks; using PHP to extend ExpressionEngine, writing handy Perl applications, building custom applications in Ruby on Rails; or working to build the user experience in XHTML/CSS/JS.
The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of user interface design. They are prepared to be flexible on this, but you will definitely need to have an understanding of the basic principles of making things easy to use. Responsibilities:
On a day to day basis you will be: - Working with clients to understand their requirements.
- Brainstorming, ideation and exploration.
- Developing these requirements into great web applications.
- Testing applications to ensure they are bullet-proof.
- Standing over the quality of their technical solutions.
You also need you to take an active role in: - Coaching and developing the development team.
- Delivering team workshops and teaching the team new things.
- Estimating and planning work with project managers.
- Thinking about how the team can do things better.
- Generally contributing to a great working environment.
Skills & Attitudes:
Our client uses a variety of technologies so if you have ANY experience in the following we want to hear from you:- - Application Frameworks: Zend, CodeIgniter, CakePHP, Symfony
- Content management products: ExpressionEngine, Joomla, Drupal, KnowledgeTree
- Ecommerce products: Magento, OSCommerce
- Testing Frameworks: WATIR, Selenium
