| Job Description | Our client is an international company; operating in a number of industries they have a global reach and are a very safe bet in the current economic climate.
They have a small, but highly skilled, self motivated Engineering team and have an opportunity for a design engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience to join them. You need to have strong skills in the software aspects of electronic design, as applied to real time embedded systems and client/server applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - To assist the Department in the project and product design process, through the provision of embedded software and associated documentation as required, specifically relating to the generation and completion of propriety embedded designs for operation in a real time environment.
- This will include specification, analysis, design, coding, integration and testing.
- Work as part of a small team, developing and enhancing embedded software solutions and applications for customers.
- Provide technical backup and support.
- Become intimately familiar with the Company's range of data acquisition and recording products.
- Occasional travel to customer sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: - MSc or BSc in Electronics or Computer Science.
- Proven record of Embedded Software Development (3-5 years).
- Embedded C/C++.
- Multi-tasking Real time operating systems (e.g. Linux; VxWorks; Windows).
- TCP/IP & serial communications.
- Drivers & protocols.
- Exposure to database programming.
- Self-motivated individual with ability to work diligently with minimal supervision, complete assigned tasks with limited referral and communicate with a wide variety of people.
- Be enthusiastic and highly motivated.
- Confident and articulate.
- Be comfortable dealing with customers; internal and external, domestic and foreign.
