| Job Description | WPR is currently seeking to recruit a Chief Technology Officer for our client, a leading NI company seeking to expand its team with high caliber expert personnel. Summary of Role: - To identify opportunities in the marketplace for new technologies, products and services to be developed by the company and to position the company as a technology leader in the field of product packaging, product recovery and product test.
Duties and Responsibilities: - In partnership with the board and the sales and marketing team, identify opportunities for the development of new products and services which meet customers' needs at an affordable price.
- Familiarize himself/herself with a broad range of technologies and apply them as appropriate to company's products
- Establish long term positive and productive relationships with customers/resellers in target markets, promoting the benefits of new products and technologies.
- Support the sales process with technical information as required
- Identify, prioritize and manage new product development delivering projects within budgeted cost and on time
- To be a recognized technology leader in the packaging industry; to join and contribute to leading industry fora; to create and present papers at relevant conferences worldwide
- Participate as a member of the senior management team in establishing and maintaining good governance processes which meet government and shareholder expectations
- Develop the necessary expertise and understanding to knowledgeably advise potential customers on company products and services and the technology and science behind them - to speak at relevant conferences and to contribute to relevant technical committees
- Travel on a worldwide basis to meet customers and to participate in trade exhibitions, conferences, technical committees etc.
- Prepare and manage a budget for product/service development
- Support and contribute to the development of new policies, procedures and systems designed to improve the operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership, training and management as required to junior members of the Research and Development team demonstrating best operating practice.
